What Motivates us into Action to obtain our Goals

The motivating factor that drives us into action to reach our goals depends on our belief system.   If you believe it enough you will manifest what you visualise and attract what you want to you.  Others believe that the mind will manifest what you want and make it happen.  The major problem is that we all assimilate information differently.  Our learning preference tends to favour one of four personality types.

The first personality type is auditory.  This person wants the facts and needs to understand the situation before moving into action.  The second personality type is more sensitive in nature.  They need a feeling for what they want to obtain and will communicate more by sensation.  Being a patient person this feeler will not be rushed into making a decision until it feels right for them.

The third personality type will process information through an inner knowing.  They tend to skip the facts, the sensations and the big picture.  They just know what is happening and will act accordingly.   The fourth personality type is more clairvoyant.  They see details missed out by others.  This person is visual in nature and needs the big picture before taking action.  They tend to go through a checklist before commencing action towards their goals.

The reason why action is so complicated is because we have all four personality types.  How we communicate and take action towards our goals depend on what order we process information.   Before action takes place we need a feeling for every thought or a thought for every feeling.  Our state of consciousness is determined by what Laws of the Universe you believe in.  The Laws of Attraction or the Laws of the Mind.

The Laws of Attraction is about raising your level of energy with exercises like visualisation to change the way you feel and think about your current situation.  What we believe we will attract and create the situation like a self fulfilling prophecy.  The Laws of the mind believe the power to create what we want lies in the mind because existence is mental in nature.  The desire for action originates from the mind involving energy, intent and action.

The truth is if you dig deep enough in your research you will find as many people as you want who will back you in your belief system.   The reverse is also true.  Search hard enough and you will find the same amount of people who will swear that what you believe in does not work.  Does it matter what law of the universe you believe in so long as it works for you.  Try a method any method and if that does not work for you then look at another method in reaching your goal.  The key is action.  There is truth in all things and no one thing holds all the truth.  Remain open to absorb different bits of information and belief systems.

Being a visual person I tend to feel think then act and favour the laws of attraction as being more effective.

The intellectual person would tend to think feel then act and more likely to favour the laws of the mind.

Building Inner Confidence with Mentoring

Building inner confidence is a life long journey.  When I was growing up in New Zealand I hid behind my mother’s dress when strangers came into the house.  I can still hear her words ‘children should be seen and not heard’.    At school I would hide behind another student so the teacher could not see me.  When authority figures asked me a question I would go bright red.  My mind would go completely blank and the words would not come out of my mouth.

On rare occasions however I did manage to pluck up the courage to share my opinion.  I still hear the laughter of the crowd on how ridiculous my suggestion was.  One day an inner voice said to me to go to Perth and find your meaning in life.  In Perth I came across group work and learnt about sharing in a non judgemental manner.

A funny thing happened with group work.  When I was willing to speak about my thoughts and feelings I found others were willing to do the same.  I discovered that what I had to share was of value to others and they also appreciated my feedback on them.  I felt an automatic lift in confidence each time we met and shared our thoughts and feelings on certain topics.  Slowly over time my belief in myself and my abilities grew in strength and a new habit pattern was formed.

As my inner trust and security in myself strengthened I got another revelation.  It did not matter what other people thought of me.  It mattered more what I thought about myself.  I realised through techniques that I had to own the problem if I got emotional in any situation. When I procrastinated I would ask my inner voice for help.  After participating in a number of courses I decided I would like to present them myself.

My next revelation came with public speaking.  People experienced in public speaking could see that I had a genuine desire to learn.  Because they saw my genuine desire to learn they had a genuine desire to help me. Desire for action is the very essence of building confidence.  Confidence building is synonymous with honesty.  You cannot fake honesty because other people who are experts in their topic fields will not be fooled.

I still have chat sessions over coffee with people I originally started group work 20 years ago.  Sometimes I would brainstorm ideas with a mentor. I discovered many ways of clarifying my thoughts without realising that it was exactly what I was doing.  I realised that if I wanted results my actions needed to be on the same path as my thoughts and feelings.

Nowadays I never leave home without my inner voice.  I talk to myself all the time. And yes I am still shy.  There are times I still push my husband to do things for me that I find a little awkward in doing.  The key with confidence building is the desire to take action. If you feel an obstacle is blocking you then look at different ways in which you could move pass the block.  Find a mentor, a self development course, or talk to your inner voice to help you grow your inner confidence.

I came across a website about gaining confidence in relationships.  It seems to lean heavily towards men but I don’t see why it can’t be about gaining confidence for everyone in all sorts of situations.

Food Intolerances Heartburn and Acid Reflux

At some point in time we all may have had an experience of belching, heartburn or acid reflux.  This may be due to eating too much food, alcohol or simply from lying down too soon after a large meal.  Prolonged stress or long term use of anti-inflammatory drugs can also add to stomach problems.

How much has our eating habits changed from our natural eating environment.  Take a look at the good old roast dinner and you will see how complex and unnatural the mixture is. Do you think a meat eating animal would oil the vegetables before consuming them.  And what about roasting the potatoes or spicing up the meat.

Have you ever heard of a nutritionist say eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables.  This is because raw fruit and vegetables have their own enzymes to digest themselves.  Cooking food tends to destroy what nature naturally supplies us.  Also acid and alkaline foods in the stomach at the same time retards digestion and can lead to fermentation.  The stomach cannot recognise different foods to know what type of media it requires to digest it.

Being one of 13 siblings and the 2nd youngest in the family I learnt at an early age to eat fast or miss out on all the good bits of food.  I still hear the voice of my mother telling me to slow down and chew my food properly.  Even now I still have a bad habit of gulping down my food as quickly as possible.  Inadequate chewing of food means the digestive enzymes in the mouth gets little chance to chemically break down substances.

Our digestive tract does not handle crunchy foods too well either.  Crunchy foods like chippies, biscuits, toast and fried foods were never part of our normal diet.  This is another reason why we chew our food properly and slowly.  The digestive enzymes in our stomach have to work a lot harder to process hard substances.  Of course when you are young you think you know better and everything will be alright.

My husband grew up on meaty meals followed by a creamy dessert.  Of course this is accompanied by wine or beer.  Now he has a fatty liver and an oversize stomach that sends out signals of objection because of heartburn or acid reflux.  He takes what I call the traditional approach.  For stomach relief he has added an extra tablet to his daily list of medication.

The foods I scoffed down in any order in my younger years have now come back to haunt me.  Now whenever I eat melons I make sure I eat them at least half an hour before or after other foods.  I try to eat foods rich in sauces or fried foods at lunch otherwise in the evening I have difficulty sleeping because of reflux.  Of course I can take what I call the intermediary approach and stay away from food intolerances.  The difficulty is to apply the discipline to discover by elimination what foods I have an intolerance to.

Now an advocate on alternate methods for stomach relief likes to see if there is a cause and effect relationship.  The alternative person believes in getting down to the underlying cause of why the stomach is misbehaving.  This may mean the stomach needs a good cleanse to get rid of sores.  It may also mean the body may be lacking in certain nutrients.

Stomach problems are not just from inadequate chewing, overeating or bad food combinations.  Prolonged stress and excessive alcohol consumption can damage the lining of the intestines as well.  So what is the answer?  I guess it depends on what school of thought you favour.  The traditional approach would simple be to take a tablet to hold the acid down in the stomach. The intermediary answer would be to just stay away from food intolerances and allergies.  The alternative person would probably persevere to search out a natural cure.

Living the Laws of Attraction

I am sure you have had visions of what you want out of life.  If only we could attract just like magic our heart’s desire.  We know we need to set goals, plan out small steps and get ourselves organised to obtain our dreams.  We know attracting the’ laws of attraction’ does require focus and action on our part.  In fact how about thinking, feeling and acting abundant to attract prosperity into your life.

Ask yourself this ....... how much are you willing to sacrifice to get the very thing that constantly eludes you.  How much research have you done, how many people have you talked to, how many different ways have you approached the task.  Do you feel frustrated with the many challenges that you feel are blocking your path.  What do you need to do to make your dreams, desires and goals become real.  Could it be that your thought process needs to change.

As a child I remember I was shaken up when this loud shrilling voice behind me said “don’t put that in your mouth, it is dirty.”   I remember my mother quickly grabbing the penny from my hand and throwing it in the bin.  I did not understand and thought that money must be dirty.  As a consequence I would go out and spend my wages as soon as I received it.  I then wondered why I had so much difficulty in saving money.  In order to change your thought process, you first needed to acknowledge that you have problem and you need help.

To change your reality you first need to recognise that your mind is the seed of your desires.  You need to plant the seed in the ground and nurture it.  Pull out the weeds when required and have patience to watch the plant grow.  How you think, feel and act needs to be on the same wavelength otherwise your little seed will not blossom into a plant and grow flowers.  So what is your focus in life.  What weeds in your strategy do you need to pull out.  What type of plant do you want to grow and what type of manure do you want to feed your little bundle of joy.   Are you prepared to look at your inner circuit board and do some creative rewiring to be more abundant and prosperous.

When it came to saving up for a deposit for my first home.  I knew it would require a lot of discipline to swap the romantic candle light dinner at restaurants for home cooked sausages and mash potatoes.  You need to ask yourself how much do you want your goal in life and what are you prepared to sacrifice in order to get it.  Why a lot of us become frustrated is because we do not realise that what we are thinking is not in alignment with our behaviour patterns.  We send out mix messages and the universe does not know what it is we want in order to attract it to you.

Believe that you have the power within to change any experience through thought.  It is the way you think that will cause you to behave in the manner that you do.  What you experience is the effect of your behaviour because of your thought process.  If you want to attract into your life the things you want then you need to reprogram your mind.   Most people think in one direction and behave in another direction.  No wonder the laws of attraction get skewed.

If our behaviour pattern is not in alignment with our thought process, we only end up sabotaging our efforts.  How we think, feel and act needs to be on the same path.  We also need to give ourselves permission to change our mind in the direction we want to go.  Our dreams and goals are not stationery.   In fact focus on unhappiness if that is your state of consciousness and fear the worse.  After all it is you who has control of your thought process.

My Love Affair with Psoriasis

How do you say goodbye to Psoriasis.  Call it what you like, Tinea, Eczema, Psoriasis or Dermatitis.  When it comes to itchy hot skin, my first thoughts are to scratch my skin until it bleeds.  Just give me an alcoholic drink if you want to meet ‘Spiderwoman’ in person.  The tiny capillaries under my skin will just light up like ‘Father Christmas’.

As a child the itch appear only in my lymph nodes behind my knees and my elbows.  I automatically reached out for the cortisone cream to fix the problem.   I still remember reaching for the ice cubes to cool down the skin.  It was not until whitish scaly sores started to appear on that I knew I had to dig deeper in my search for relief.  This started my journey of introduction to ki energy,  aromatherapy, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and cortisone tablets.  To name only a few.......

So what is the solution.  The on and off relationship with your red patches can be a life-long journey.  I am sure you have already investigated your environment, the foods you eat, and the medication that you take.   And let us not forget the smorgasbord of alternative treatments available.  If you can, do some form of physical exercise.  The body movements may help your circulation system to remove toxins.

My current form of relaxation and exercise is Tai Chi.  It helps me to move into a relaxing meditation to empty my mind.  I use Tai Chi to surf the waves of energy around me.  Croquet helps me to take my mind of all those things that I do on my computer.   It helps me to sharpen my awareness, to pick up nuances of my opponent, and to strategically position myself for the next move.

Eliminating Psoriasis is a bit like trying to get rid of stress.  What is your body trying to tell you.  What new tools do you have to arm yourself with.  Keep searching if your body is still dis-ease and spitting out the toxins through your skin.  Recharge your thinking cap to look at other ways to go deeper in your listening skills with your body.  What do you have to consume and change in your life so that your skin no longer throws a tantrum.

I find my body does not take kindly to eating too much salt, sugar or chocolate.  Foods like red peppers and curries are a hot objection, whereas fish and greens are an enjoyable culinary delight.  Before I wash my socks I turn them inside out so that the dead skin cells get washed away.   Look at different ways to sharpen your awareness and your body will talk to you.  It will tell you what it likes to digest and spit out in an irritating manner what you need to stay away from or else.

For each of us our itchy path to non itchiness will take different directions.  It will take effort and lots of determination on your part.  Keep trying out the smorgasbord of different food groups and alternative treatments to say goodbye to your Psoriasis.

Why do people people work from home

Working from home has been a long time occupation for me. The hours are 24, the days are 7. There is no sick leave and no guaranteed income at the end of a hard day's work. The only person I can order around is myself. In fact I take all the risk. And yet I would have it no other way....

Freedom can come at a high price. Especially when one wants to search for the things that they enjoy doing and get paid to do it. Finding that niche that you are good at can be a long journey and why would you persevere. Trust and believe in yourself that you have the strength and integrity within to do what you dream you would like to do.

Close your eyes and look inwards into your imagination. Relax and allow a picture to form of what you want to create and who you would want to be. Now write down where you would like to be in your future. Ask yourself how do you find that thing you want to do. When are you going to take the steps into action to create your little niche.

I sat down and wrote these notes in my pyjamas, sitting on the toilet seat at 2am in the morning. Why I work from home is because it is my choice in picking out my hours of work. I am my own boss and I do not have anyone to tell me what to do and when. Whenever things are not going right, I just take one step back to reflect on the situation. Sometimes I just go and do something entirely different.

Having a number of outside interests and hobbies are important so that it is not all work and no play. I keep a tally of how much time I spend on the computer and take periodic breaks. At the back of my mind there is a constant reminder to myself for the need to interact with people outside of my home.

Whatever work you do there is always a set of rules to abide by. Find out what game you want to play and the set of rules you are prepared to work with. The rewards are high if you persevere to find your little niche of delight that you enjoy plodding around. What do you love to do. Can you dream it, sleep on it, have a passion and drive for it.  And people call that work...
